SALES MANAGER

We curate, design, and make the highest quality wood flooring, millwork, and furniture. Our customers include architects, interior designers, homeowners, contractors, developers, and installers. We operate showrooms in New York City and Los Angeles and manufacture our products in Europe and the United States. Our showrooms are creative spaces where architecture, interior design, and art merge together in a forward-thinking environment.
ABOUT THE POSITION
The Sales Manager is responsible for achieving revenue targets, foster client relationships, and contribute to the overall success of MADERA. The Sales Manager is also responsible for managing sales activities in our Showroom and developing new business with architects, designers, contractors, and developers in New York, Los Angeles and beyond. Sales Managers will develop and manage their projects up until the deposit is paid. Once the deposit is paid, they hand the project over to the Projects Team. You will collaborate with our other teams to ensure that your clients receive top-notch service. This is a customer service role, and you should feel comfortable working directly with customers and be expected to represent the MADERA brand.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Field and service incoming sales leads and conduct showroom visits at our New York or Los Angeles Showroom.
Submit and help process sample requests for customers via our online Shop and ensure that samples are of high quality and are delivered on time – the quality and timely arrival of samples are key to our continued success.
Prepare estimates for customers in our accounting software.
Activate new projects in our Project Management software when deposit payments are received.
Track and manage all your customers and sales leads in Capsule, our CRM software.
Address client concerns and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction,
Manage and nurture existing sales relationships with architects, designers, contractors, and developers to maintain these accounts and develop new projects.
Collaborate with other teams to meet customer needs and improve overall customer experience.
Identify and develop new sales relationships with prospective customers through Instagram, Google, industry publications, events, and other channels.
Analyze market trends and competitor activities to identify business opportunities.
Develop and implement effective sales strategies to capitalize on market trends and expand into new markets.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of sales strategies and adjust as needed.
Assist with developing and implementing strategic sales plans to achieve company goals and objectives.
Conduct regular sales meetings to review performance, set goals, and provide guidance.
Assist the Business Development Team to organize and conduct Wine & Learn events with prospective customers and support the Marketing Team in organizing marketing events at the showroom.
Prepare regular sales forecasts and reports for senior management.
Analyze sales data and metrics to identify areas for improvement.
Provide insights and recommendations for optimizing sales performance.
REPORTING
The Sales Manager will work out of our New York or Los Angeles Showroom and report directly to the Chief of Sales + Marketing.
SUCCESS IN THIS ROLE REQUIRES
Bachelor’s Degree in business, architecture, or design with at least five years of professional work experience in product sales or business development within the hardwood flooring industry or, more broadly, within the architecture and design worlds.
Highly motivated and target driven.
Ability to close sales and reach sales and profit targets.
Tech and computer savvy – previous experience working with CRM software such as Capsule and Accounting software such as QuickBooks Online preferred.
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail are a must.
Flexible, self-motivated, and a collaborative team player.
Able to communicate effectively with team members and clients.
Ability to travel to job sites and architectural offices to generate new business.
Knowledge and understanding of wood, timber industry and wood craftsmanship a plus
Interior/industrial design or architecture experience is a plus.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
Competitive salary commensurate with experience and participation in MADERA’s performance incentive program.
The benefits package includes participation in MADERA’s health insurance plan, 401K retirement plan, commission plan, 15 days paid vacation, 8 days paid sick leave, paid public holidays, and flextime.
Regular working hours are based on a 5-day work week Monday through Friday from 9AM to 5:30PM. Scheduled weekend showroom hours may be rotated with the sales team as applicable. Once weekend hours commence, a 5-day work schedule will be determined by Management.
